With the exception of your name and address, this information is subject to legal professional privilege. This information may be required to be disclosed to other parties in accordance with your instructions and in the process of conducting your matter.
Other parties may include:
- Staff employed by Vivid Civil Engineers;
- Statutory bodies including Courts and Tribunals in all jurisdictions (e.g. Family Court, Federal Court, Supreme Court, County Court and Magistrates Court and the Federal Circuit Court), Land Use Victoria, State Revenue Office and ASIC. Please note in this regard the Family Law Rules 2004 require us to advise the court and the other party as to the amount and source of funding of your legal costs from time to time;
- Storage facilities and archive services, financial institutions, process servers, title searchers and other external parties who provide services in connection with the operation of our legal practice.
We take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is secure at all times from loss, disclosure, modification and misuse. Our members of staff are required to adhere to a confidentiality agreement that is binding upon them at the time of their employment and after their termination. Our IT systems and premises are the subject of stringent security controls at all times.
On the completion of your matter, files are stored externally on secured premises maintained by professional storage services for a period of seven (7) years after which your file will automatically be destroyed by confidential means.
